Pooling for impact: Brunel video demonstrates Responsible Investment through partnership
Brunel has published a new video on its homepage that shows how its collaborative investment process enables clients to meet their fiduciary and Responsible Investment commitments for the long term and across a range of priorities – including investing in the UK.
The video features interviews with clients, managers, and members of the Brunel team, focusing in on an affordable housing investment in Cornwall to demonstrate the real-world impact of our approach.
The specific investment, made on behalf of Cornwall Pension Fund, highlights Brunel’s philosophy across key, interlocking priorities: achieving investment returns, addressing climate change, addressing social ambitions, and delivering demonstrable impact locally.
“One of the things I’m most passionate about is being able to deploy money in a productive sense – there is no trade-off needed between investing for a purpose and investing for a financial return,” said David Vickers, Chief Investment Officer. “Because we know the energy transition needs to happen and is progressing, the opportunities financially are there for us to reap – and that’s a really powerful motive for investing.”
The video follows the full investment process followed within the partnership, from client commission right through to investment on the ground.
