Congratulations to Faith Ward on being named Personality of the Year by Environmental Finance!!

As Chief Responsible Investment Officer at Brunel, Faith has overseen the launch of our Climate Change Policy, which challenged the broader industry to make radical changes and described the financial system as “not fit for purpose” to address climate change.

Her team has also pioneered the Responsible Investment & Stewardship Outcomes Report, in which Brunel assessed its own performance across a range of climate and RI metrics. The Carbon Metrics Report and Climate Action Report (TCFD) have added both further analytical depth and more detail on our climate ambitions.

But Brunel also aims to bring change to the wider industry, making Faith’s broader role and profile important to our aspirations. Late last year, Faith was appointed chair of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). In the Spring, the IIGCC launched its Net Zero Investment Framework, the first comprehensive framework to enable investors to implement the Paris Agreement. The IIGCC plays a key role in driving forward investor initiatives such as Climate Action 100+ and Net Zero Asset Managers.

She has shown further leadership around advocacy, targets and indexing. Her close work with the development of Brunel’s fund suite has seen engagement with more than 130 managers and 530 strategies on climate.

“I am delighted that Environmental Finance has chosen to recognise Faith’s remarkable leadership and don’t doubt that she will continue to provide just the kind of climate leadership the industry urgently needs,” said Laura Chappell, Chief Executive Officer at Brunel Pension Partnership.
