Meet our new Investment Non-Executive Directors, Roelie van Wijk and Miles Geldard
It’s a huge pleasure to welcome Roelie van Wijk and Miles Geldard as Brunel’s new Investment Non-Executive Directors.
Given their extensive experience, Roelie and Miles arrive at a good moment, as Brunel’s transition of client assets continues apace – two private markets funds have been launched in recent weeks and three listed markets funds are forthcoming. Our focus will therefore gradually turn more exclusively to managing and monitoring our portfolios. We will benefit enormously from their wisdom.
Roelie van Wijk
Roelie van Wijk was CEO at TKP Investments in the Netherlands for almost 12 years and Global Head of Responsible Business & Public Affairs at Aegon Asset Management for two years. She also has broader public and tertiary sector pensions experience, as well as experience of issues around sustainable investing, having worked as Chair of the Board at the Dutch Fund and Asset Management Association, and of the Investment Leaders Group at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. She sits on a number of supervisory boards or investment committees in the Netherlands and, crucially, has experience of pension pooling. She was very pleased to accept the role.
“I am happy to bring my global experience and my knowledge of investments in all investment categories to Brunel’s stakeholders,” she said. “Responsible investment has been my passion for many years, and I know the pension sector well. That’s why I think Brunel and her clients will be a good cultural match.”
Miles Geldard
Miles Geldard was Head of Fixed Income and Balanced portfolios at Jardine Fleming/JPMorgan Asset Management for five years before spending two years as CIO and Head of the Global Multi-Asset Group at JPMorgan Asset Management. In 2006, he founded the Multi-Asset and Convertibles team at RWC Partners. He then spent nine years at Jupiter Asset Management, first as Head of Strategy, Multi-Asset and Fixed Income and, subsequently, as Senior Adviser. Aside of his significant institutional and multi-asset investing experience, his commitment to sustainability is clearly demonstrated in his three years as trustee of Save the Elephants and his trusteeship at the BioGuinea Foundation. He also sits on two Investment Committees.
“I am delighted to be joining Brunel’s fine team,” said Miles. “It is exciting to be part of an organisation that has such a clear focus on its fiduciary responsibilities to its clients, as well as a firm belief that we have a collective obligation to seek to mitigate the environmental threats to our planet.”
We are delighted to welcome them both to our broader partnership.
