Client Relationship Manager

Location: Central Bristol with flexibility

This is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate with strong client relationship management experience in the asset management or pensions industry, together with a proven commitment to Responsible Investment, to manage Brunel’s relationships with its clients.

The position enables the candidate to engage in day-to-day contact with Brunel’s clients, playing a critical role in providing key services to our clients. By joining Brunel, they will work for a recognised leader in Responsible Investment that is committed both to setting an example in climate investing and to pushing for broader industry change. They will also receive opportunities for further training and development. The role will involve occasional travel, primarily around the South and Southwest of England.

  • Work with the Head of Client Relations to provide a robust framework for managing external relationships and interactions with Brunel’s clients and external stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with individual client funds, investment advisers and pension committees – which includes understanding client Strategic Asset Allocation, all stages of asset transition, operations and investment team servicing, and client priorities and interests
  • Develop and maintain bespoke plans for each client to ensure optimal client servicing, product and services development and long-term client management
  • Support the development of client relationship analysts
  • Lead on client sub-groups, work with Brunel committees on client support, and contribute to client-specific content for client reporting
  • Support Compliance & Risk team in their development of our Treating Customers Fairly policy

Skills & Experience

  • Client servicing experience in asset management/pensions – LGPS experience an advantage
  • Ability to understand and communicate key factors underlying Brunel portfolios and investment landscape to clients, with particular focus on pension pooling
  • Strong belief in Brunel’s values and culture, including RI and diversity
  • Deep understanding of RI principles and of how an asset manager applies them to managing portfolios
  • Ability to work independently and productively, with a ‘completer-finisher’ approach
  • Strong inter-personal skills to deal with managing difficult conversations and situations – and strong communication and presentation skills more broadly
